Italmatch awarded with A- on CDP Climate Change Rating

Italmatch is now among the top 25% of companies that have reached the "leaders" level

Italmatch Chemicals has been awarded an A- for the CDP- climate change rating, a strong recognition of the company’s effective ESG strategy and the progresses made in its decarbonization roadmap.

With a significant improvement from last year’s B- rating, Italmatch is now among the top 25% of companies that have reached the “leaders” level, a category reserved to organizations implementing current best practices.

“Sustainability is a fundamental part of our group’s strategy. By incorporating ESG practices into every aspect of our business, we ensure long-term success and make a positive impact to the environment and society. This new CDP rating is a recognition of our vision for a more sustainable future and climate roadmap”, said our GM Corporate Maurizio Turci.

This advancement is a result of the Group’s approach to addressing climate change, including the establishment of climate governance, management commitment and specific targets, all backed by certified emissions reporting and thorough risk analysis.

“The achievement of this rating, together with the prestigious Gold Medal awarded by EcoVadis at the end of 2024, shows how our company has matured in its sustainable business approach” added our Group ESG and Sustainability Manager Claudio Pirani.  “This is a joint success that must be shared with all those who have contributed to the design and implementation of the projects, the collection of information and the day-to-day management of the business in accordance with best practices”.

The elements that most supported our evaluation were:

  • The approval of our 2030 emission reduction targets by Science Based Targets initiative (-42% for Scope 1 + Scope 2 emissions and -25% for Scope 3 emissions);
  • The GHG inventory for scope 1, scope 2 and scope 3 emissions certified by a third party;
  • The content and environmental policies disclosure;
  • The analysis and disclosure of climate change risks and opportunities in relation to the Group’s strategy;
  • The proactive approach to engagement with institutional stakeholders, its value chain (emission reduction projects with customers and suppliers, sustainable supplier assessment).

Established in 2000, CDP is the only independent global system for environmental disclosure, helping companies, capital markets, cities, states, and regions manage their environmental impacts. CDP’s ratings are recognized as the industry standard for corporate environmental transparency, offering reliable sustainability information to customers and investors.
