Lubricant Performance Additives is rooted in sulfur and phosphorus chemistry. We specialize in additives for extreme pressure, wear protection, friction modification and corrosion inhibition. Our strong expertise in these chemistries allows us to offer comprehensive performance packages as well as individual components for formulation flexibility. Our current product line includes sulfurized products (featuring light color and low odor), dithiophosphate chemicals and other specialized lubricant packages to meet our customers’ formulation needs.

We take pride in delivering unique additive solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each industrial applications. Lubricant Performance Additives division also manufactures Ketjenlube®, a superior base fluid for a wide range of lubricant and metalworking applications. Data indicates that using Ketjenlube® results in enhanced friction reduction, improved equipment life, better fuel efficiency and overall cost savings. Thanks to its long tradition in phosphorus–based chemistry, Italmatch is also a global leading manufacturer of very high-quality Phosphorus Pentasulfide (P2S5), a key precursor for the production of an important class of lubricant anti-wear additives such as zinc–dithiophosphate (ZDDP).

Italmatch Chemicals is also manufacturing an extensive range of ASA/PIBSA reacting olefins and HR-PIB of different length and molecular weight and further reacting them with amines, poliamines, alcohols and other chemistries to prepare molecules that finds application as fuel additives and in lubricants as dispersing agents.

We have further expanded our phosphorus chemistry into special phosphites and phosphonates that find its main use Automatic Transmission Fluids intermediates and components.

Italmatch is also manufacturing friction modifier components for use in engine oils.
