Amino Plant – Organo phosphonate threshold scale inhibitors and sequestering agents. The products are typically amino phosphonates used as ingredients in a wide range of products including consumer products like household detergents, Industrial & Institutional cleaners and in a wide variety of industrial water treatment additives used for the prevention or removal of deposits, corrosion and for the control of metals in industrial systems/processes.
HEDP Plant – A nominal 60% aqueous solution of 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP). Threshold scale inhibitor and sequestering agent used as ingredient in a wide range of products including consumer products like household detergents, Industrial & Institutional cleaners and in a wide variety of industrial water treatment additives used for the prevention or removal of deposits, corrosion and for the control of metals in industrial systems/processes.
Liquid Blending – Several blends predominantly based on raw materials manufactured in the Amino and HEDP plant; Functional Solutions specifically developed for use as industrial water & process treatment additives in end-market applications like desalination, geothermal, pulp & paper, mining and other industrial processes and for chelant /(co-) builder replacement in Household and Industrial & Institutional formulations.

The industry-accepted best technique to deal with formaldehyde through a bio-treatment plant was ineffective, so a reaction was developed known as Formose, which converts formaldehyde to harmless sugars and reduces its presence in waste water to one part per million. This Europe-leading success of the project has been recognised by the prestigious Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards.
All the activities in Italmatch Newport manufacturing plant are carried out following strict Quality & HSE standards and certified to:
Significant recent investments on plant upgrades and safety systems including full multi plant DCS upgrades, new fully automated drumming lines and replacement storage tanks scheduled for 2023 and 2024.
The Italmatch plants benefit from the on site IHRS (Industrial Heat Recovery Scheme), a condensing economizer waste heat recovery unit on the site steam generation facility: waste heat is extracted from the boiler exhaust stack and transferred for use in other applications, thereby reducing the need for heat derived from burning fossil fuel.
