In order to manufacture its specialty chemicals portfolio, Italmatch Nantong plant utilize a variety of raw materials, namely:
These are used to produce flame retardants masterbatches, including Italmatch innovative proprietary technologies: Phoslite® (Company’s trade name for Inorganic Phosphinate or Hypophosphite based Flame Retardants), Masteret® (trade name for Red Phosphorus Masterbatches) and Melagard®, (trade name for Melamine-based Flame Retardants).
All product families are Halogen-Free Flame Retardants and are available in different grades and formulations for several applications.
Nantong plant, located in Rugao, was built in 2000. Its original portfolio consisted of melamine based flame retardants. Five years after its construction, in 2005, the manufacturing site started a Joint Venture with Italmatch Chemicals.
Later in 2006, Nantong plant was then 100% purchased by Italmatch as a “Fully Owned Company” (FOC). Later on, Italmatch Group invested in order to build a Red Phosphorus masterbatches production and a Hypophosphite production, both with proprietary technology.
Today, 100 people work in the plant every day. The plant has a total production capacity of 4000 MT/Year, with a total surface of 26000 SQM.
Nantong Italmatch plant holds quality, environmental and safety certifications:
The manufacturing site is also provided with process vent (scrubbers) and waste-water treatment processes in order to control the emissions into the environment. Each department has its own scrubber in order to apply the best technology for the specific process vent.
Waste-water treatment process is composed of different preliminary phases: separation of solids, flocculation and Fenton technology, in order to control the Phosphorus content in the waste water before discharging to the third party waste water treatment company for further treatment.
